Peter Clossick
Peter studied at Camberwell School of Art and Goldsmiths College during the early 1970s and has been engaged in professional fine art practice ever since. He is a member and Past President of The London Group – an artist collective established in 1913 – and also a member of The New English Art Club under the Federation of British Artists. He exhibits regularly both in the UK and abroad.
Peter’s work incorporates confident, generous strokes that imbue them with a profound sense of presence. Indeed, his work – through the atmosphere and intensity of his approach – reaches out to the viewer, meets them in the middle and enters the viewer's own space. He has cited specific influences including (but not limited to) Degas, Sickert, Bomberg, Soutine, Giacometti, Auerbach, and Kossoff.
